    Lewis Salvage - Warsaw In.

This is one of my local yards, Lewis Salvage in Warsaw, In. #574-267-6781
They have a big drive on scale for steel, scrap vehicles and a smaller platform scale inside for everything non-ferrous and motors.
Lately they have added electronic recycling and also cardboard. Prices are low on these.
They seem to have very competitive prices.
Here's a pic of them unloading a truck out back.
Their address is 1961 White Industrial Dr.

Those are magnets inside those claws, and those guys running them are good. I watched the operator pick up a big wad of misc. wire a couple of times and kind of shake it out. Then he reaches down and plucks out a small electric motor the size of a baseball out of the middle of the wire. He could probably pick up a large needle if he had to.

I think there's a total of 5 or 6 magnets, some with claws and a couple without. And 3-4 semi's.

Last time I went to the yard I wish I could have recorded the crane operator.. he was a PRO. He got 4 washer in 1 magnet grab! And the way he would swing the magnet back SUPER fast and swing the boom ahead of it and it would then level out directly over the bed of my truck. Hope that makes sense lol. My yards are MUCH more cluttered! That place looks well kept

Time before this last trip the guy in front of me was getting unloaded and I hear "Just don't drop it on the trailer! Haha" as the guy jokingly shouted up to the crane operator. Magnet then precariously picks up a lawnmower by the handle and its swinging and swaying then DROP! SMASH it lands and takes his trailer light right off!!

Size: 1.48 MBSo, we made a metal run yesterday & This time I remembered to bring the camera & I`m glad I did! Between me & the oldest daughter(coppergirl_98, she`s almost 16 too!), we came home w/$150+ cash money....lol! BUT, the best part, I was looking around & there he is, a BTO scrapper from our hometown area. He was gracious enough to give us a perty good lesson in scrap`n. He was looking over our stuff(Eagle eye`n...lol) but he saw a `lil what I thought was prolly brass, but a mask. He reached in there & told(I`ll just call her RM) her to take that back home, guess I need to look it up....LOL! So we got all the stuff out of the back of the `rango & needed to unload the `lil trailer. He did her a Dandy by talking the magnetic crane operator into let`n her go for a ride!!! Oh my Lord, I don`t think the pix I`m about to try to post will even Closely justify the smile on her face!!! Welp, lets see if I can get`em posted....lol.....GAS

That's an experience she'll remember for a long time. My youngest still remembers the time a small circus came to town and I bought her a ride on the back of an elephant. Just me and her. Another time we went for a ride in a special monster truck. They had one built with seats (and belts) in the back of the pickup bed. She's 24 now and still remembers them. Irreplaceable.
