I got my books from Walmart a year or two a go and they still have a lot of life I just have to get new laces because they break

I wear Ariat Work-hogs that I got at Sheplers about eight months ago. Awesome work boots. I've been stepped on by horses at least 20 times with them (Non-steel toe) and my foot has been fine every time. They run about 180 but with coupons you can get em for 120. Highly recommend them.

I've had mine about three months now. They have been nice boots, however my insoles are starting to wear out. I bought them at the store when I got the boots.

Before these I wore out two pair of Lacrosse boots, one pair of Georgia Boots and some Walmart ones. The Walmart boots were toasted in less than two months. I figured if I was going through the higher end boots so fast, I might as well save some money and buy throwaways. That was a bad idea.

I might buy steeltoes and wear them later in cooler weather. When I'm sledge hammering pieces sometimes bounce back at me.

I am a big fan of Vasque Boots with Mondalvi insoles, about $200 all told but I get 5-6 years out of them and I am hard on boots!

I have a pair of steel toe Timberlands, Have beat the hell out of them for a year and a half now and there still kicking, But that metatarsal looks like a good idea, I should probably look into them, I didnt know there was steel in that piece too.

Chippewa Boots I prefer IQ "industrial quality" steel toe with waterproofing
the artic and logger boots are a very good boot as well. seven years a pair if taken care of.
Made in USA! get a little brass american flag on the laces of every pair.

For rubber I have a pair of muck boots great heavy duty work boots as well.

I used to buy Dakota Quad Comfort steel toes. I loved them, great boots, but this last pair lasted me only 4 months. 2 of which I was in school. So really only two months of actual work. They leak and are starting to crack and rip. Really? After 4 months and 160 bucks they are garbage? Never again

That's the trouble with the made in China stuff that hides behind a store brand name. It's really hit and miss. It looks OK and the price is good, but chances are high that something has been skimped on to meet the price point. Poor quality components, sloppy manufacturing tolerances and lack of customer support have steered me away from Chinese goods (especially for business use). If it doesn't specifically say made in North America or Europe, I shy away.
