I was talking to a guy a few days ago & he mentioned using the cutting disc out of a tubing cutter, to strip the plastic off plastic coated copper wire.

At home I noticed my copper tubing cutter, its the same as this one.> .

I'm thinking I could take out the bottom roller (its held in by a steel pin thats knurled at one end, just push it from each end untill it moves & then push it out)
Drill a small hole where the roller was, so that the wire can go thru the hole (missing the knurled knob) down inside the cutter & out under the cutting roller.

With any luck the cutting roller will slice thru the outer plastic insulation, cutting it apart, & the copper wire will be able to be pulled out of the plastic insulation.

    I don't think it'd be that easy.

I think it will need a nylon or Teflon block, it can be held in by the adjusting bolt, with a 'Vee' in the bit that would sit under the cutting roller, so the wire sits in the 'Vee' as its pulled thru.

The present gap between the roller & metal, frame is about 2mm, too big I guess.

Some microwaves have a round block of Teflon that is used to drive the glass platter around, possible source of Teflon..

had a discussion with my brother then later he came back with this idea that we could change the design using most of the parts.

it should only take a phone call to the manufacture / distributor of the products to get them to make it. (optimistically thinking)

can someone go and make these for me ill buy one.

you could sell a million of them. I want half

Hey Idaho, does this really work or is this your listing? LOL. J/K. Seriously though, are there a lot of hang ups? I consider myself extremely! good with a razor knife, but I'm a creature of ease, and if I can find something that can work better than what I do for a reasonable amount, I'm interested.

I'm happy with it. Loaned it to my mechanic and he lost it. I don't even know. So he paid me for it and I got another one. Mine is the older one that doesn't have the "eye" bolt contraption on top. So I can't vouch for how well it takes tangles out of a pile of wire. Other than that so far, so good. Does well on solid and braided. There is a bit of a learning curve when doing braided so that you don't catch it on the blade and create "stickers".

Hoss has mine at the moment but when I get it back I may do a video. There is one on the listing, but it doesn't show the process from start to finish.

Numbers generally don't mean much most of the time.

I don't really see how he expects to sell the machines with no prices. People don't like contacting companies to get prices. They like them to be online lol.

+44 is the international dialling code for the UK.
I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""
