Cool Scrapping a TV - Video by Kenny Chumsky

Oh before everyone gets on us about the transformers and such... we always call them motors, because the scrap yard takes them as CBM (Copper Bearing Motors) This is one of the very first vids we every made for scrapping.

    Thanks!

I liked the one when he was scrapping a tv and found a spider and lit it on fire! I have done that a few times. Scares the hell out of my wife lol.

Ahh, but you CAN get shocked, even if power has been disconnected.

Ask Hoss about the time he tickled his pickle. Almost had a weenie roast.

I've watched this video before. It helped me tear down my first TV. The only thing I didn't like is where Kenny says to just throw the screws away. Please tell me you've wised up and are taking them in with your shred. If not you're just throwing money away! It all adds up.

Then I think you will be happy to know.. After we made this video we had a few people enlighten us about metal and now we to do collect everything =) Kenny was always so use to steel being around $0.02 a pound and at the time did not have a big enough vehicle for the steel. Now with it being right around $0.10 we do not let any bit of metal pass us bye!!!

Thanks for the video, it was pretty informative! Only concern I have is with that glass. Is breaking it with a hammer at the top really advised? Also, i've been wondering if unbroken tubes and glass could break or explode if they are sitting out in the snow?

This video is the reason I started collecting the t.v.'s. Always passed em by till I watched Kenny scrap one. ( Even tho Hoss got me a little gun shy of em now, lol) Very informative. Keep up the good work!

The only reason why we break the tube is because they are so heavy and Kenny back over twenty years ago remember hearing about a kid carrying one and falling on top of it. The tube then when right through him and killed him. If you do not break them, just be safe carrying it or resemble it where it is safer to carry.
