    cell phone boards

Please don't beat me up if this has been talked about before. Icould not find anything about this. Ineed some advice on cell phones. I have about 20-25 lbs of cell phones, I know some e-waste buyers on here buy whole cell pones but I'm trying to figure out if would be better to remove the boards and sell them rather than the whole phone. If so dose anybody have a price for these boards. It would be easyer to ship the boards rather than the whole phone. Thank you in advance for any advice on this.

Check with your buyer is the best answer I can give you. I wanted to say "Its junk send to me and I'll properly dispose of it" lol

I doubt it hmakes a lot of sense to disassemble them rather than ship whole. I think you will like the price you get for those boards you do have. Best of luck, Mike.

Thanks Miked for the post. The boards from the ones I brake down look to me as they might be high grade, lots of gold. I'm going to brake down enough to get a lb. and see how many phones it takes

Don't quote me but I thought I saw a buyer here paying $6/lb for whole phones and $12/lb for boards. I'd be curious on your numbers if it makes sense to break down. I broke a few down, but those pesky screws get to be a bit much at times.

some buyers pay $6 for the whole phone and around $9 for the boards i have descovered with the weight of plastic and the glass screen you make mnore for you time sending them as whole units rather then taking them apart i usually get ALOT of cells just keep the batteries for another load as the price tends to go down when you send the battery with the phone

OK here is an update on cell phones. I went to the buyers section and looked at the price list from Relectrocycle ( whom I've done bussness with before) 6.00 per lbs for the phones and 10.00 for the boards. Now I'll have to brake down some phones to see how many phones it takes to get a lb. I'll post my findings in the next few days.

typically it isnt worth the labor cost to disassemble phones, so most sellers want to sell them whole, without batteries to maximize the return.
We buy them without the battery and we also buy tyhe li ion battery.
