For base metal, international metal price discrepancy is very limited, comparing the huge price differences between different levels of US scrap food chain. Since moving the scrap stream to the destination is awfully expensive, if you find a way to optimize the operation and shorten the food chain, you could enjoy quite a decent profit for any scraps.
(Some exotic
metal prices like rare earth in Alibaba could be real, but better forget them because they are far trickier than the normal stuff. )
