    Aluminum ac coils

How often do you guys come across ali window ac units with ali fins and tubes? Do you strip the ali tubes from the ali fins? Would the tubes be extruded. Or sheet and why? I have yet to come across one that has ali tubes a window one anyway i did get ali tubes once in a central ac unit.

Ive seen window a/c's with one alum rad, and the other is cu/alum rad. Its more often in dehumidifires. I just throw the al rads in with my car rads. Dont waist time cutting the alum noodles off. They will go as sheet Alum, its the same as a gas lines from a oven.

The tubes are often but not always 6061 aluminum which, along with 6063, does have an extrusion premium. Only on the most massive scales does it make even a little sense to separate them and then only with a machine shredder. No matter how much spare time you have it is not worth separating them

Should clarify that not every yard even has a 6061 price. Sometimes will sell as old sheet (clean aluminum sheet) or mlcc (100% clean unpainted alumimum) which is another argument against stripping. Fwiw where I work we buy large quantities of Al scrap from businesses that produce scrap but also from other scrapyards and so far as I know we've never even once from anybody bought Al radiator tubing *at all* outside of buying radiators whole.
