Buying insulated wire from a electrician

I was wondering if i could just go into a electrician place or plumbing place and buy the scrap stuff they have and what to pay and still make a profit? Should i give them a card to will that help get a foothold in and maybe get me things? I was thinking of trying it.

There's no harm in asking.

The three electricians in my area had no problem giving it to me for free. You could offer .25 cents a pound and make a small profit.

The plumbers vary. Some will let you have it. Others keep it for themselves. You might be able to work a deal where you get the copper and brass if you clean up their junk pile every so often. They have quite a bit of steel and iron waste. That stuff is heavy so you would need a good truck to do that job.

Oh ok thanks that sounds promising ill give a update if all goes well or not either way. I have no problem cleaning up piles of metals lol. I get to do that at my new job they want to scrap it themselves though. Ali 500mcm ane some copper and romex i plan on asking to buy somw of the bigger wire to strip.
