Best way to advertise a "Free appliance removal" service?

I want to advertise free appliance removal for curbside pickup and charge them $20 if I have to disconnect the thing or go in their house for any reason.

Anything I've ever advertised on craigslist went nowhere. All I can come up with is door hangers. Some company near me will hang advertisements on 5000 doors for $125.

Gunna make a website too, but SEO pickup takes time.

I have good luck posting in the appliance for sale section, wanted section and the free section. Although posting wanted ads if the free section gets your post removed when the craigslist nazi's see it. Apparently "wanting" to pick up appliances for free is a no no.

I don't run them all the time but when I am planning on taking in a load to my yard and don't have anything planned for my day after that i'll advertise. Sometimes I'll get one load sometimes 5. Always check craigslist free section maybe 15-20 times a day through the "Cplus for Craigslist" app because you never know what you'll find and around here stuff goes fast and you have to be on top of it.

It's getting removed because it's in the wrong section.

Craigslist has a Wanted section, try posting it in there. It's where I look before I post something in Free.
I figure it's a good idea in case someone is willing to pay for something I was going to give away, or just to speed up the process of getting rid of it.

I've always wondered if that actually worked. As a part-time recycler I would never advertise on CL for a removal service. I see so many free appliances and I pickup quite a few, there are always some available, at least around where I live.

    CL works depending on area.

    Some folks have no luck.

    Some folks have great luck.

    Same with curb shopping.

    Some find great items.

Some find not so great items.

It's very area dependent. Some areas have people who have nothing better to do all day then report posts on CL whethe breaking rules or not. Some people couldn't careless an post all willy nilly for rules.

    YMMV.

I will take a gander at free stuff on CL but otherwise I leave it to others. I live on a sandbar, I got better things to do then check an app 50 times a day or repost the same ad over an over because someone wants to be a jerk face.

For those it works for...I wish you continued success.

For those it doesn't...don't worry, there is hope out there. There are many ways to advertise/obtain extra that don't rely on CL just like many ways to sell an you'll never touch ebay.

    Good luck to all.

Not a lot going on with CL around here unless you want nasty looking couches or stained mattresses. Yuck!
There's plenty of other ways of getting stuff.

As Sirscrapalot stated. "CL works depending on area." I tried looking on CL many times but its a bust here. Im south of Chicago's south side. All wood or Crt tv's. All the goodies are in the northern suburbs. Im not driving 40 miles one way for a $5 dryer. Also too many people flagging other scrap removal ads. One day a ad is there, next day duplicate ad and "Its a scam" posted under it. What a bunch of Lame-O's.

I made a facebook recycling page for my town. Scored a hvac contact threw that.

If you live in a neighborhood there’s an app called “NextDoor”. People always post free stuff, but it’s be a good place to post your idea.

Also Facebook Marketplace has groups tied to your general area.
