Wink What To Do With 14 Pounds Of Generic Tokens ?

Any ideas on what I can do with 14 pounds of tokens ( mixed metal ) ?
Maybe some arts-and-crafts project ? I'm probably going to donate them to Goodwill for the tax write off at the end of the year if I can not find a good use for them.

    .
I originally bought a 50 pound bag of tokens, and these generics are whats left over after I sorted 'em. They have no resale value unless I am somehow able to find the machines they work with.

How much did you want for them? I don’t really have a use for them.

Arts an crafts...grab a drill, some fishing line or whatever an make chimes.

Find an arcade somewhere that uses them..

Sell them on ebay as an arcade collector item...

Mail'm to me for a beverage an a picture of a cooler. I'll even sign it.

Parts of this post were in jest, I'll allow the reader to decide which.

Sirscrapalot - I like being able to hit my space bar an not have a 0 attached to the word...working keyboards..amazing.

I know someone who may buy them. Reach out to portlandmint.com (Adam Youngs). He has a co-worker (Commonwealth C&C) who buys tokens, but I'm not sure if he can use the type you have. I know he does buy transit tokens, however.

~$2.50 on Ebay for bulk ... generics ( tokens that can not be linked to anything ) don't sell for that price. I do not think anyone actually buys them unless you know which machines they work with.

Bill at Commonwealth tells me he pays $2 a pound for these as a courtesy. They deal more with foreign coins, so this is a sideline for them. Keep in mind that you would need to pay the freight to get it to him in Portland, OR.

The donations to Goodwill/thrift stores were abused big time.

    Wouldn't surprise me at all.

    Sirscrapalot - Ooo..money. Hello friend.

Put em in quarter rolls and give them away?!?
Bury them on a beach in a small metal box
Toss em in the tolls. Cuz that's what I think the road is worth

A friend has a tresurechest that he puts any coins or take jewerly or such into. His kids loved it & the Grandkids probably will too.

I have thought about making them from wooden pallets & metal strapping from the waste bin of a local Steel & Tube supplier.
