today i got a flat screen tv and a battery they also asked if i wanted a grill but i said i dont take that type cause its mostly steel yuck=) so people do call just not as fast as i would like=)

not to much in a flat screen most of the heat sinks were steel=( but there was some transformers and wires what is the screen made of? what is the aluminum strips that the light things are attached to extrusion of sheet?

what do i do with the boards should i save them and take them to a different yard since mine does not take them? they are green and i think there is gold on them what do i take off of them? what do you get for them? lead batteries why do they give you 8 dollars for a car battery but you only get .20cents for the smaller ones?

Take that grill! Most have cast aluminum top and bottom, brass valves... also even if you get a smaller steel one that folds up they resell easy. Webber for sure

yeah it was all rusty and had no legs so it couldnt walk anymore=) mostly i only take grills that have aluminum and tainless steel and brass. not the ones that are all steel and rusty. brass is only on the propain grills. not the charcoal. so what do do with the boards?

Find a low grade board buyer by you and ship the better stuff out. At worst if no low grade buyer add the items in with your steel. I know you cant do steel yet but when you can that is!

If someone offers you some small steel when you are there just take it, you can always drop it off somewhere else for someone to take. As said you don't want people to think you are out to just get there good stuff!

you can refine it your self. if you have the space, stack them high.

oh but arent the chemicals dangerous? or is there a way to do it without chemicals?

Hey Mike1, no you don't want to refine things yourself unless you have taken a full blown chemistry class, YouTube videos will not help you.

Jakepheleps, we here at SMF do not seal with refining, there is a forum for that, GMF has some greatly knowledgeable people there and will set you straight about refining, if they deem you already have the knowledge to refine, so I have heard.

Back to Mike1, all those green boards you collect, you should be boxing them up and using a buyer here from the forum. There is one not that far from you and all you have to do is sort them out a little. I think you have been told before about Ewasted. he is not that far from you and he would be your best bet. It doesn't take much to use him and all you need is a bank account or a paypal account to deal with payouts. Now I know I'm using too many direct names here but truly that is your best bet with limited resources.

And, always take the steel, take it right to your local yard. You don't have to be there with a full load every time. They will not argue about 50 pounds or 5k pounds, they are making money on it no matter how much you bring them.

And one last time, never, ever try refining in any sorts unless you have been properly trained. If you value your life, you will follow that for life.

I have tried my hand at refining gold from computer scrap, I can't tell you what to do but I can tell you I stopped. But if it wasn't for trying to Refine I wouldn't have came across this forum. So if your anything like me Id got bored trying to refine and found I made more money selling on E-Bay and sending to EWasted. If you have a place to take steel that would be awesome. Leave nothing and SCRAP EVERYTHING...

Another option is you can separate things you want refined and send those specific items to someone to refine it for you. There's a few people who do this for a small cut or fee.
