    I've recycled a bunch of the "gas grill" style and campstove type propane tanks. What I do is once they are empty, I take em out and use them for target practice. Once they look like swiss cheese, the local yard takes em no questions asked.

    They make nice targets too since they have a nice loud "ping" whey you shoot them.

    I would end up spending more in ammo than what I got back in scrap.
