The guys got his whole business to look after. Its a part of 'Due process'.

If after taking it it (its in his hands at the time) he did give it to you, and you scrapped it and went to sell it, the first thing they will ask about if "What happened to the Freon?".

And if your answer is "Oh I just let of out " You are in big trouble. If you then mention anything about the Tradesman, so is he.

Like for him to give it to you, he knows you are not going to recover the gas at all. In knowing that, he's part of it too.

I wouldn't believe anything a random person said to me if I was that Tradesman either. It defiantly would not be the first time somebody's said that to him.
no they wouldnt because i dont take in the whole thing i just take the motors, wires and radiators then i strip them down. iev taken in id say five radiators bronken down got 80 dollars for the tubes no problems. i give the other stuff to a guy who picks it up for free dont have a truck and steel is not worth my effort=) also i heard that there is a copper motor inside the freon tank is this true? also i apreciate everyones imput.

You should of offered him 80 bucks. Or a few bucks less then the yard that's how I get them. Every roof top unit I've purchased was drained before the crane picked it off the roof. Most hvac guys around here don't strip down they just send the aprentise and the end of the. On company time...it's cheaper for them to take your cash.

so do all ac guys take the acs or does it matter who it is and how nice they are? i think it matters who it is not all ac guys are like the one i encountered if they were no one would get any ac's at least the house ones wac's(window air conditioners) are probably more common and more easily obtained. also why do wac's not have any brass on them and the hac's have brass is it because the pressure is greater or something? ok how likely is it that i would get a hac from a ac guy hes a private one not comercial if the landlords say i can have it and they tell him would he give it to me then?

Hey there. New user here. This is not an answer but a question related to topic rather. I had my AC replaced by hvac guy. He left the unit. Would he not have drained old unit? How can I tell if he did?
