    Industrial MCM Cable Stripper?

I am looking for a cable stripper to strip MCM cables. I am not really interested in multiconductor or romex. Just MCM and 3-0 gauge.

I am NOT looking for DIY, NOT looking for manual, NOT looking for drill powered and NOT looking for cheap China models.

I Want something that is ugly, weighs at least 1,000 lbs and strips cables like bananas, to eliminate hard work pulling them out from incomplete cuts, or difficulties starting a cut.

I want a stripper with feeding wheels, not just knives that pull cables.

    Thanks

    Who have you looked into?

It seems Gensco has what you're looking for, made in Canada. Gensco Equipment - Cable Processing The Super Stripper 170 fits you requirements, but I don't know if it fits your bill. Going with anything new, that's not Chinese, is going to be big money.

Thanks. I bookmarked that Gensco page. I will talk to some scrap yard owners about it.

What is wrong with the china models? Almost everything you buy now is from china. I got mine in Ontario and it was manufactured in China and I have no complaints. You can stick 3-0 in and a piece of insulation comes out toward each side and the bare copper comes straight out the middle. I have done 70 ft + (all one piece) in one shot within seconds.

Good question. I have a SDT stripper right now. It works, but does not strip completely, you have to pull insulation off with varied effort. It gets old fast.

Have ever tried running them through a second time. I had a table mounted electric drill powered stripper. With certain insulated wire I would run them through a second time but making a new cut. I found this easier than pulling out the copper wire from the insulation. Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
