    Abandoned car, need advice

I have a client who has offered to give me an abandoned car at one of his rental properties, and I have never dealt with this kind of situation. What I am looking for is possibly someone who has done towing before.

I need to know the legality of removing an abandoned vehicle, with approval of course, and what steps are necessary to obtain a title.

I apologize if this is already listed somewhere, I'm kind of in a rush for this information.

I will be googling this too, but would help and be appreciated if I don't happen to find all of the information.

    SW Houston. Sugar Land area.

From what the DMV told me today, I have to request for a storage lein, but in order to do that I have to have an authorized signature for the temporary ownership. The register owner has 30 days after my letter is sent for acknowledgment of vehicle tow and if no response in that time period, i can then request for a title. The owner of the rental property can act as the registered owner if in the lease it is stated that any property left behind will be regarded as trash and removed of properly.

A side note- I went to look at it today. It's a '99 Camaro. The doors were left unlocked when they moved, and in that part of town, the stereo, speakers and battery were stolen. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been cinder blocked yet ha.
