Who wants a quick $20? DRAM Class Action Lawsuit

Apparently if you bought any electronics with DRAM between April 1st '99 and June 30th '02 you are elegible for a 20$ refund.
The best part is no proof required.

This appeared on CBC so hurry guys..

I wished I'd heard about this earlier. We actually did own an RD-RAM computer.

Even used, back then on eBay, the RAM sure was expensive!

what type of information did they get for their offer of a possible future $20?

    Information is worth money.

I you take a minute to read, there was a payout of about 15 DRAM producers that were accused of price fixing the ram between those 3 years,
so a ruling of millions of dollars to be distributed to the general public. Everyone is entitled to the 20$. If you can somehow prove that you bought much more ram, you are entitled to possibly thousands of dollars.

This info was broadcast on the canuck news a few days ago, and lots written online as well.
Like Matador said, only took 2 minutes. Just trying to let the forum know, seeing lots of us are dealing with ram and can understand what is going on, its really not a matter of right or wrong, its 20$ for petes sake!

We are the general public and we got screwed, or could not quite afford to buy the DRAM components because of illegal activity, therefore I will gladly take any free money, I have no mercy for price fixing.

Just think if price fixing were legal, and the implications there could be. Not like it doesn't already exist, look at petrol!

Now if I can prove that they are price fixing, we could all be rich!!!

    Maybe this will help KZ..

The web site contains more information on the claim process, including the documentation needed if you’re claiming more than the base compensation. If you’re just doing the basic $20 claim, it’s just one form that can be completed in less than 60 seconds and your $20 is on the way.

Except, not quite. Once you fill out and submit the form, you’ll get this note:

“In class actions, payment typically occurs a year or more after the claims deadline. After all claims evaluations and any appeals are completed, the Claims Administrator must obtain authorization from the court to make the proposed payments to Settlement Class Members. Payments will only be made once the authorization is received.”

The claims deadline is June 23, 2015, so get your claims in now. And start thinking about what you’ll do with that $20 in the summer of 2016.

Well that does cover a wide range of products and I'm sure I must have purchased something on that list since I wasn't using mostly scrap electronics back then.

In my case, we actually did purchase a couple of computers. So, my claim is legitimate.

The form was easy- they have my name, E-Mail, and a P.O. Box that I rent.

I wouldn't make a claim if I didn't buy a computer, or would have if it weren't for price fixing, but a lot of us did purchase a computer. I repair them, so I've felt the pain of paying for RD-RAM upgrades.

Of course, RD-RAM is now scrap....

This lawsuit is obsolete and the final date to submit a claim was August 1, 2014
Deadline to file a claim online or by mail.

My intention was to relay some info pertaining to things we actually recycle, never was this a question of honesty, take the info and do or don't do.

For some reason I have received negative feedback, my notification on the top of the screen said something about spamming??

This was never my intention, as I like this forum and its members, and thought we could all profit from this.

If any of you feel it is dishonest, then do not file. period.
