Got two pool heaters today,,,,,

Got a couple of pool heaters in today, we were talking about this last week and the topic was very popular, so I wanted to share this with you when it was fresh in my mind. Now remember I am located in South Florida a good percentage of the homes have large built in swimming pools. I wanted two take some pictures of them but when I got back to the shop they had already broke them down. But the goodies were still separated and I weighed up the material. One of the heaters was the size of a 5 ton central a/c unit the other like a 3 ton unit the bigger one had a single copper aluminum coil and that round ring of copper the smaller had a double copper aluminum coil that had a aluminum casting no tin so it was a clean coil no need to cut the tin, because there was no tin sweet,,,, ok the single coil weighed 28 lbs the double weighed 88 lbs, the two sealed units weighed 158 lbs, the two electric motors weighed 24 lbs the smaller unit had no copper ring but it had a nice amount of heavy copper lines running thru out, but it had a large plastic reviving tank. With four lines running into it they were painted lite blue inside the plastic tank were all copper tubing painted lite blue,total of the copper from both units 79 lbs #2 copper, a little wire 4 lbs number one, 3 lbs number two very little tin did not weigh, so the pool heater scraping business is pretty good, call up the pool heater company's in your area and see if you can buy there scrap it should be good for you.
