    Major mistake??? Advice

Did a job yesterday and got this fridge. Didnt think anything of it except heavy and good scrap. Got home and was snipping power cords and snipped its cord. Later a antique buddy of mine came over and said it was worth alot of money. The owner said it worked when I got it but now the cord is snipped. I just put it on craigslist for offer. What do you guys know or think about this?

That first link worked just fine for me. Too bad you snipped the cord. Is there any way you could rewire it? Next time always plug things in and see if they work. We all learn by our mistakes, I hope you learn from this one. Good luck

Doubt if it'll sell with no cord, unless you give it away free/cheap. I'd rewire a heavy cord back on it.

I had an old Kelvonator I grabbed and sold for about 125.00 it was cracked pretty bad on the inside. I put a new cord on it. It was pretty easy to put one on.

i will try and splice it and rewire. Only have inch left of cord hanging out hopefully will be enough. If i cannot do that how will i be able to attach a new power cord?

I was able to take the piece apart where the cord was attached and disconnect it inside and rewire the new one.

I always say plug it in first and see if it works, only do that 50% of the time, even a fan that works is more than the $.08 - $.10 a pound for it!

I wouldn't call that a major mistake. Just a minor setback. Should be able to splice a new cord on no problem.

Not yet we spliced it and it works. Buyers are being picky and hard to work with but i am getting people contacting me only a matter of time.
