i have been hoarding heating elements from electric stoves for about 2 years now,my yard buys the as brass as long as you remove the magnetic brackets that are on some of them.it got me thinking as i was pretty sure they were not brass i thought there may be something else they were doing with them.i done some research earlier this year and was told they were made of something called cooper nickel.ive been reading over the archives here all morning about them.and the general concensus is that the outside is something like stainless and the inner wire is a nickel alloy.at least thats what ive gathered .if anyone has found a good answer of exactly what to do with them id really like more info.at the moment i have almost unlimited free time and if i could sell the inner wire for a good amount i would start strip[ping the wire from them.any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated

Should have sold your nickel scrap back in '11 when prices were stable. Today 304 stainless is bringing less than most aluminum commodities at my yard.

my yard only gives 25 cents a pound on stainless,if i have a few hundred pounds i will threaten to haul it north and they will bump it up to 45 to 50 for me .so is the outside of the burners just regular stainless.and the inner wire is a high nickel alloy

Any update on the 80/20 from air handler heating coils? also Ive been keeping (and get a ton of) salt chlorine generators, and ive heard the sheets inside are nickel. I haven't torn one apart yet to shoot the plate with the "money gun" yet, but im curious if any of yall had any idea if it is and what the price may be. I would also like to sell the plastic housing which is pvc and has a decent amount of weight, especially with the quantity that I have

Here is a picture of some that I had previously hoarded. I had 2 buckets of this stuff salvaged from the heater portion of HVAC package units. I took it to a specialty yard that tested it with a gun and bought it as inconel. No idea what it is paying now but it paid really well a Couple years ago when I cashed this stuff in.
