need advice: Copper line from propane industry

I have seperated all the brass fittings from the copper lines. That is the extent of my sorting. Some of the copper has dirt and paint on them. Do I need to seperate those pieces out? I also have regulators. What type of scrap would those be? Thanks for any advice.

If its just little parts with paint, cut them out so that way you will get #1 for the large peices and #2 for the cut painted peices. You could always just bring it as is and they will take it as #2. Not a bad deal if it isn't a lot of pipe. If it is a large loads, then it may be worth it to remove the paint in order to get #1 pricing on it. Hope that helps.

The controller should be alum and brass. If it is a large burdens, then it may be worth it to eliminate the decorate in alignment to get #1 charge on it. Hope that helps.

Is it cost efficient to break down the regulators? What kind of price per pound would I get if I turned them in whole? Also, there is some teflon tape residue on some of the brass fittings... how picky are the yards?
