An eye for AU in Lights

Stumbled onto another spot to scrap some gold plating. Was recycling some halogen light bulbs when I noticed gold plating on some of the pins/contacts to fluorescent bulbs. Never would of thought it would be used in this application. Its not very much on one light bulb (4 small pins), but when you have access to hundreds of these as I do it will add to my bucket overtime. I love it when people pass on recycling gold bearing material because they think that there is so little its not worth it. I'll just omit a response to that and let them not trouble themselves with the tedious work of pulling pins.

How do you get the pins out? I hope you don't brake the bulbs, those are not halogen they are fluorescent and have murcury in them.

There is a horizontal seam in the plastic, stuff like that i just stick a flat blade screwdriver and twist it usually comes apart pretty easy. Ive processed quite a few florescent and led screw in bulbs. There is usually a nice transformer/ballast and some #2 insulated inside these.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
