Cool how to make more money scrapping

i usually go out on every trash day close to my house and try and find metal i usually find washers and dryers and fridges. but i only get a trailer load full like every 2 weeks.i was wondering what i can do to find more?also whats more i could take out of the fridges and washers to get more money. and i usually just throw my electric motors like ceeling fans in with my dirty steel do they pay more for them?what am really asking is what to take as dirty steel and what not to take how can i get more money for the stuff im taking?

A little Research. I know you're new, but all the questions you just asked have probably been asked by many people and covered hundreds of times. There is a search bar in the upper right hand corner. Do some research then report back please.

when you are at start up point you probably need to break things down. there are many threads here telling you how.

go to the main page and click on the white scrap metal forum box and look for break down thread.

do you want to be a scrapper or are you desperate and just want a little easy cash, cause there isn't much easy cash in this business.
you might try doing a little home work in the archives then come back and ask some real questions. sry but I tried to be nice.p.s. here is an inexpensive book availahere too.

Electric motors usually pay at least .25 a lb, about twice of shred steel. Same with transformers.

What M688 is pointing out here is just the tip of the iceberg.

Usually when I need make money I just haul more scrap. Unless you have a very steady supply of something I wouldn't get hung up on just one type of scrap. I'll scrap anything that gets on my way.

If you find any copper pipes out with the trash, pick 'em up, those are pretty good.

The last week I have had some luck with the local antique store. The store owner goes to auctions and buys a variety of items. Some of the metal items are to far gone to fix up and so he gives them to me free of charge. I did like his antique store page on facebook a couple of weeks a go. I think thats why I got the call. Anyways thats this amateurs two cents of advice.
