    Questions about windings

Let me start off by apologizing if this is a stupid question.
I have been ripping apart a little hoard of AC compressors and fan motors I have accumulated over the last few months. I have quite a few that I have gotten the windings out of but they have a lot strings and glue like material on them. I hit them a few times to get the strings off but the copper still is in little bunches that are almost glued together. I'm assuming that once I take the string off and put them in a bucket this will be ok with the scrap yards.
Am I correct on this or do I need to get the glue off somehow?
I did a search on here as well as on google but couldn't find where this is discussed. Thanks for any help!

It'll go as #2 copper with the glue.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I sell mine also with glue and strings as #2 copper.Don't get me wrong if I can reach in an easily remove some string I will
    but I don't make a huge effort.

the copper windings will only go at #2 prices so some contamination is expected as far as the varnish , tape etc.

once you have the good stuff out its easy enough to crack/smack off the wrapping if you feel the need to.

dam....im a little slow tonight LoL

Thanks so much! Been a busy couple days cutting apart these motors. It should make for a nice payday once I go. Nice Oldbass. Pretty much what my pile is looking like. I love shiny things! lol

I work in an electric motor factory and we sell it as #2 copper. Cut one set of end turns off like you see in the photo, cut off the lead wires and pull off any mylar slot liners that stick to the copper (that glue is varnish used to hold the wires together). The string does not have to be removed.
