    Water heaters, work scrapping out to pieces for more than shred?

    Whats the main pieces here and whats it all worth?

    At a bare minimum you should separate the copper and brass that is easily accessible.
    If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....

    Agreed...unless you can get more than shred; some yards pay a flat fee for water heaters. Worth inquiring in your area.

    I sell mine to a landlord I know. He gives me 10.00 for non-working or not sure and 20.00 for the ones that work. Better than scrap price and I get to take whatever copper pipe might still be on them. I used to take the good parts and throw the rest in w/scrap. Never calculated the price if I break it all down does anyone know if I'm screwing myself by selling or am I getting a good deal??
