    new guy . just starting this

    I am starting to do this to raise a little extra money for my family .. wondering the best way to scrap

    i bought a 99 explorer 4wd for 300.00 blown engine

    sold tranny for 300.00 and he is pulling it

    what should i remove before scrapping the truck . i just want to get the most bang for my buck



    also when i go to scrap yard i will be bringing 1 washer 2 dryers and a dishwasher .. anything i should do to these ? sorry for all the questions.

    will be scrapping in owensboro KY area if that makes a difference

    Take the motors and wires out of the Driers. And I don't really know about cars. My yard pays 400 bucks for a whole car. So

    If you ship them to me ill send you a money order for $70 for both of them, because ther should be 2 on the explorer. Also i think those factory radios if it is in good condition go for a decent price on evilbay

    Try cutting out the wiring harness. May be another 60 dollars

    Also, with the dishwasher. Make a note of the brand name and model # ... the racks inside the dishwasher will sell on e-Bay or Craigslist. Hope This helps.


    Edit: Remove the wiring from the dishwasher, also there is a water pump that contains #2 copper and an electric motor, remove both of these to scrap out the copper. Also, sometimes the control panels and timers will sell on e-Bat and or craigslist as well..
