Bit of advice for the newer people here pt2

Cashed in our non- ferrous today that we have been collecting since starting in Feb. separated it all brass, copper tubing, clean alum, dirty alum...etc. bring in the aluminum first and scale guy who recognizes us now sees we have a decent load. When he sees it's all separated he smiles and says thanks. Next thing I know he looks at the alum, scales it and says its all clean right? Turns around punches in the# s and continues. Onto copper pipe separated into #1 and #2. Scale guy looks at buckets puts it all together and we get #1 price on it all. Next is motor windings, and copper from monitors,tv's and transformers. Says looks good and takes our #1 bucket and throws it on top, scales it and we get....you guessed it #1 price for both. Well needless to say my brother and I cashed out nicely because we took the time to separate everything before going to the scales. Guy said that we are one of a handful of small scrappers that don't make them nuts with our scrap all mixed together.
    1. Everything I know about scrapping I read here, so thanks to everyone who has contributed to my education in the last few months.
    2. Treat your scale guys well. Separate your scrap, know what you have and it will pay off for you. You will never be short changed and your scale guys will appreciate a customer that doesn't make their job any harder.
    3. KEEP READING THE OLD THREADS. I am 42 years old and I learn something new here EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!

I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” John Wayne-- The Shootist
