Done with free ads on craigslist!!!!

Craigslist really is a cool tool for us in the recycling biz but I am only going to use it for advertising from now on. I have responded to several free ads and every other on is a scam. To many low lifes out there to make it useful. I've had a few of my service ads flagged but I can make a few changes and repost those without much aggrevation. Watch yourselves folks!! If the ad doesn't have much detail and seems to good to be true stay away, it is a waste of your time. Even that doesn't always playout though, I responded to an add yesterday from a guy who had a trailer full of metal that he had to have hauled off because his truck was broke down and his wife wanted it gone ASAP, there was even pictures and a phone number. Turned out it was some teenager whose buddys thought it would be funny to have everyone in the neighborhood calling him. Anyway I'm done b#@chn. Just be watchful what you guys respond to.

I don't waste my time with Cragslist free ad's. I post my service in the Labor/Moving category and get all I need from that.

I replied to a FREE ad yesterday evening, and went and picked it all up this morning. Between $300 to $400 worth. Just like you said, got to be careful.

I will say that I have responded to several, and get a scam of teeth whitening, or no reply at all, and you see the same ad every other day.

Yeah, I get between 50 to 100 junk emails a day in my spam box. Good thing, I just have to click one button!

I get most of my leads from my blog and through Facebook friends and family. The blog is the best though. People call my phone number, send pics and the date on that days newspaper next to the scrap they supposedly have to make sure they are legit before I do any business.

tek, is your blog about scrapping or something else. Just curious, I am a huge fan of blogs and have had a few over the last ten years, mainly about baseball.
