Anybody here from the Lewiston or Portland, Maine area?

I'm getting quite a few calls from Lewiston and Portland areas for appliances. It's 55-60 miles for me and just too far. I'd really like to set up a referral network so when I get a call, I could turn around and call or email someone in that area. Not looking to charge for the referral. What I'm wanting from this is to build reputation for my website. It doesn't do anything for me when I tell people "You're too far. I can't help you". I've emailed one member here who registered last September and nothing since, but not really holding any hope he's still in business. My intent is that I can tell the person who calls "XXX will be contacting you within (24 hours) to set up a time to pick up your stuff". I'd pass on the contact information and the rest is up to you.

If you're interested, drop me a PM or email mick.mstransport@yahoo.com
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

That would be a good gig for anyone who jumps on that one. I would say post a CL ad an see if you can find anyone down there who would be happy to do that. An maybe even pay pick up sent to them.

Mick we're actually going to incorporate something here on the forum for b2b job sharing. It would be great to have a quick and easy place to send work to others when the job is either too far away or something outside of your interests/skill set.

We'll add a section, or add the ability for you guys to create your own local groups or networks here on the forum which you can make private and invite only. I'm considering this a HIGH priority as an addition to this forum, especially with summer around the corner it's going to be worthwhile for everybody to utilize it.

i vacation in west gardiner, Maine, every year and in my travels up there im constantly seeing abandoned boats and trailers in the woods. correct me if im wrong but boat trailers are heavy enough to be worth hauling in right? most of the boats are the old metal rowboats and fishing boats as well... next time im up there (already went this year) i'll take note of the spots and share them with whoever is interested...

I do this for a guy who does DC and MD for me. However, I advertise I don't service those areas, but occasionally you get people who cant read.

I will also forward junk removal jobs to him as well.
