    Pool and hot tub installers

I thought I would share something that I had forgotten about....Many years ago I was scrapping with a buddy and we stopped by a company that installed pools and hot tubs. They had a lot of pool heaters and such out back and they told us we could have them all. One of them had a HUGE copper coil inside.....at the time copper was not paying all that much but we still got $20 for it at the time.

Might be an outlet for some of you out there looking for scrap.

I have seen a lot of above ground pools, with filtering appliances included, that are online. There is quite a bit of metal on these. Some also come with the pumps, etc. Do you think those would be worth anything? I'm not sure what they are made of.

Yes they would be. The heating unit in a spa is all stainless. Well in my experience anyway.

Hayward pool heaters are the ones that have the huge copper heat exchangers in them. Unfortunatly, they guys who install the pools are mostly on to that one but you can get the rest of the heater for scrap usually. The pumps are usually 48 or 56 frame and have several pounds of copper in the motor. My company makes these motors for Hayward.
