Tried to search for this but magnet yeilds a ton of results and after 30 min or so of looking through the results i decided to just start this thread. So if i overlooked the answers i apologize.



So i was just wandering what magnets yall prefer to use when testing for aluminum,stainless, etc. I had been using a plastic coated one that came out of a cabinet lock set "tot lock" that used the magnet to release the child lock. It was pretty strong and didnt flake apart like the ceramic magnets tend to do. So long story short i lost it somehow and need a new magnet.i did see that someone recomend a neodymium magnet and another the magnet out of a hard drive. any ways lets hear what you use.
