Back when I worked at Home Depot I picked up a 4 1/2" Makita angle grinder as an open box for 20 bucks. I have beat the hell out of that thing and It just wont die. I have killed a half dozen of the Harbor Freight cheapies and learned my lesson.

A good tool may cost more but will not let you down in the middle of a job. It got to be embarassing when my grinder would smoke itself to death in the middle of a job. Just does not make you look reliable. The more expensive HF angle grinders seem to be pretty decent but for the price I paid the Makita cant be beat.Keep an eye out at HD around the holidays. The grinder I got was supposed to come with a free diamond blade for cutting tile and concrete/stone and originally sold for 50 bucks. Some tweaker stole the diamond blades out of a bunch of boxes so they sold the grinder with 2 cutoff wheels and a grinding disc for 20 bucks because the box was torn up and the freebie diamond blade was missing.
