Hi to all, Just some general info from an auction I went to.There were several 100+ hp motors and the scrapper yard paid 500 ea for them.I was dreaming when I thought maybe I could get one for a 100 bucks.They bought everything accept the nails in the pallets.All I could get was a pile of extention cords,and was lucky to get that.Oh well, let the stripping begin!!

That's auctions for you. I go to one a month myself, and watch the online ones too. Sometimes people get caught up and pay way too much, or have an outlet for stuff that pays way more than you could get. Some of my best scores have come from industrial auctions.

Keep at it, sooner or later you'll score.

Just keep at it. Ever come across restaurant equipment? I do well with that. Sold an ice machine on Monday for $540. Paid $50.

The auctions here in grangeville are few and far in between,commercial ones anyway,its kinda of a small town pop. 3500.But there are always chances to pick up deals if your not affraid to get a little dirty but its not like big citys where dumpster diving pays off because people doent have the space,time or desire to deal with scrap.If something gets thrown away up here it ain't good for much.

A lot of farm equipment sales round here, try to go to as many as I can take off work for. Been going to em for two years or so usually able to buy cheap enough to double my money after its prepared. Got to know what's it worth beforehand or you ll end up upside down real quick

tried the block of wood with the drywall screw on one of those 100' cords I got and was surprised how well it works.Still not much fun, but the wire sure looks nice and its alot better than cutting it off.Thanks to all on the forum,its a great place for good advice
