    Gold plated jewelry

Gold plated jewelry"? I have some jewelry that is 18 carat gold plated, but it is all broke. Guess the guy that owned the place fixed jewelry, but died before he could finish.

I asked my yard any special price, because the gold buying places dont want it. But all they said is brass or copper base, which is what they will pay.

I have searched with no answers, so what is your thought"? Is there a market for there is gold plated and silver plated jewelry"?

Kinda a shame. One of them pieces is part of a bulova watch. It has the receipt in 1956 it was 66 usd, but the funny thing is I was told it was worthless and plated silver....

Sell it on Ebay, there are plenty of people buying gp for gold recovery as it is a simpler process to do via reverse electroplating. Also because it is jewelry and not pins from electronics, plating will be regulated. some information can be found here: http://www.artisanplating.com/articl...ingmyths5.html
Buyers will have more idea on its recovery and will be able to bid accordingly. Or you can try the goldrefining forum, but be aware they are even more wary of newbies than people here. Make sure you have enough to be worthwhile and post pictures.

If you are adventurous reverse plating seems doable. It would depend on your comfort, knowledge and the amount of material. Here is a link to a great forum. Like here take the time to read. All your questions about refinning are answered in old posts there, Mike.
