    Old musical instruments

I can't seem to find anywhere that would consider buying this, but I found an old trumpet last night on trash night, looks like copper and/or brass.. Has anyone else had or tried to sell something like this?

I always start with Craigslist. If no bites, possibly eBay or a local online auction site.

this is really funny because two days ago I had the same issue! I found one just sitting on the curb in my partners neigborhood and we scooped it up! Long story short it was a king 600 student trumpet and we sold it for 50 Bucks at a music shop I think it was from the early 80' s! the guy gave us 50 but I saw them on ebay for 191-205 dollars! I gladly took the 50 bucks and went on about the business of the day!

i was just given 3 musical instruments by my aunt she took them to a music store and was told they were "worthless/not worth refurbishing" the man also told her that for what it would cost to refurbish them the profit for selling them would be less then what the profit would be to just scrap them as they are now(there maybe 10-12 lbs of brass altogether) so she gave them to me....
I think she was talking to the wrong guy on a bad day
im sure its gotta be worth the time to atleast shine them up a little and sell on ebay
the only problem one of them has is an ivory knob broke off her trombone, the other instruments are a flute and a trumpet

I have seen some instruments tagged as poor condition sell for big bucks on some of the school auctions around here.

I found a small trumpet, after taking it to the Police & doing the 'lost n found' thing, then waiting 3 months, I got it back.

The slides didn't slide easily so I knew it was worn, they have to electroplate them to recondition them.

    I sold it for a quick $50.
