    Confused on this metal

    Hi everyone
So I have these big heavy valves and I am trying to figure out what to do with them. I haven't seen a big demand for them as a unit so I am leaning towards scrapping them. They are made up of CF8M steel and 316 steel on the stem of it. I'm not sure what CF8M steel is or how to go about scrapping it (if it's even worth it). I still don't know how to get pictures on here anymore so here is a link to what they look like:

    Any input is appreciated

If you can't sell them that's a nice piece of scrap. Am guessing that yellow knob is steel but if it's also only slightly magnetic like the body you should be able to get stainless 316 price for the whole valve as is (if the bolts are also stainless). Should be at least .70/lb right now with nickel prices skyrocketing like they are. Here in Vegas I'm buying 316 at $1.27

Too bad I'm in Northern California... Way too far

So as long as I remove the handle scrap yards will buy it as stainless?

If the bolts are stainless too then yes, but not only stainless, 316 stainless which is a higher grade than the 304 stainless that 'clean stainless' price signifies. 316 is usually at least .20 higher than 304. If the handle is strongly magnetic then yes, remove it. If it is weakly magnetic like the rest should be then no need to remove it.
