    Wire stripper

    Looking for recommendations on a good copper wire stripper. I will be stripping strand wire and sold wire.

    Look on ebay. The yellow colored,motorized, Chinese model works pretty well. It's good value for the money. There is a learning curve with it, but you'll get the idea after a bit of practice. It does solid wire as small as 14 ga pretty well. It does stranded cable okay.

    The smaller stranded wire from 12 ga down to 20 ga isn't worth fussing with.

    You could look on youtube for wire strippers and see what different kinds are out there.

    For small amounts, you can always use an electrician wire stripper and a vise or an utility knife (be careful with that one).

    For small quantities use hills' advice. It's a great little machine that can do more volume than you think!
