Verizon cell tower cabling and antenna worth it?

hello everyone. I'm very new to this so we're looking some advice. Verizon recently terminated a cell phone lease at our church. The cell tower was located in our steeple. they left the cabling going from the cell site to the antenna as well as the antenna itself. we're trying to debate on whether it would be worth it to remove the antenna and the cabling for perhaps its scrap value. I unfortunately can't see the antenna because it is in our steeple but we have about 300 feet of the cabling attached to this post. Just looking for some advice on what to do with it. Thanks in advance.

I dont think however you did that picture link is working... the link does not work for me. try uploading it to imgur or something. 300ft of cabling, depending on the type and thickness, MAY be worth it to remove, but if I had to guess, the scrap value of 300ft of a cable and some metal from an antenna wouldnt be worth too much in scrap, unless it is particularly thick cable or a abnormally large antenna. Probably $100 or so in scrap would be my guess without seeing any pictures of it.

    Sight unseen, probably. Coppercore maybe.

It really depends on the type of coax you've got there. If you're able to snip off a small section and find out. I've gotten cable from towers that was mainly copper coax. If you come across any that has a tan outer layer that looks braided I would get as much of that as you can as that's silver plated coax cable.

I was lucky enough to be awarded a bid a few years back from an AT&T buyout of a local cell phone company. I got all the cable (among other things) from 32 towers when they swapped technology. The cables were sold as jelly cable. Some of the wire was thick enough to strip for bare bright. One towers cable wouldn't be worth your time and killing yourself IMO. Might be looking at $100 or so.

So you made $3200 off your towers........Not a bad haul if you didn't have to go to each tower individually and pull the wiring

No I didn't do anything to be honest. They brought it all to me cut up and ready to ship. Once in a while you get lucky on a score.
