Exclamation Can anyone please tell me what this is?

I recently scrapped a central AC and in a plastic container type of thing(sorry i have no clue the name) i came across this big spring looking metal. Now what my question is what is it called? And i am thinking it is full brass but unsure, can anyone please give me details.
Please note that i am not talking about the sealed unit.
I would have added a picture but the site doesnt allow me.
    Thanks in advance!

I think if you post 10 messages you can then post a picture.

That is what i thought as well, but what throws me off is that it is about 7pounds, 16inches high, tubing is about 1inch diameter... and when i look up capillary tubes i cant find one that is even close to it

    Not sure bud.

Try asking freonjoe, or IdahoScrapper. They might have an idea.

Better yet, go introduce yourself in the appropriate forum. We'd love to know more about you. By then you should be over 10 posts, and can post that picture for us.

    Good luck.

It sounds like maybe a heat exchanger on a water cooled unit. Is it by chance copper lines wrapped around a brass cylinder?
