    Mercury

To me, this sounds like a really stupid question but ive been curious and cant seem to find much on it. Do some scrapyards take mercury? Im almost positive i cant sell it on Ebay and i cant really thinking of any other way to sell this stuff. I have about 20 pounds of it. Any help would be appreciated

Lurch, there's a couple of threads down below in the similar section. Might have some relevant info.

Lurch - Best to drop it off at your closest hazardous waste disposal site and be done with it. This could end up being a big headache for you.

Google shows several companies that recycle mercury. I did not take the time to see if any paid for the mercury. Mike

Might try using Recycler's World, I see one listing for a buyer from Racine, Wisconsin. Wanting to purchase liquid Mercury (1 lb. minimum) at $7.70 a pound. Here is the link Recycler's World Note: most likely means of being mercury poisoned, eating contaminated seafood. So don't need it on your fish, as it's already in most large species of sea fish! Good luck with selling mercury and Bon Appetit.

I am NOT recommending this company but I checked to see it they had a collection/drop off locatin near me and found several. As it turns out these locations are HVAC supply companys. I feel certain this company most likely don't pay for the mercury. This will be helpful to me since I get very few itmes that contain mercury so I can safely dispose of it. Mike
