Car speakers or speaker in general

Sorry if this has been covered already. I picked around for to see if this topic was covered but i didn't see any.

I picked up 4 10" car speakers. Pretty sure they are blown and don't work. As you know there is a big magnet on them so I will pull apart one for the magnet to keep and use. Question is how much do you tear down speakers you get?

Music should come crashing out of your speakers and grab you, and the lyrics should challenge whatever preconceived notions that listener has.

Car speakers or speaker in general

Copper should be right behind the front "fabric" stuff. car speakers have a bit of copper that's not too hard to get to.

Like the others, unless it's got a magnet I want it goes in shred minus that tiny bit of copper an whatever wires are attached.

They add up fast in the shred pile.

Sirscrapalot - Can you hear me? Is this thing on? Hello?

Oh I do save an test some home speakers an some cars if I think they might be good for resale.

The home ones sell better for me then car audio tho.

Either way...it's money in the bank.

Sirscrapalot - A good speaker can make or break a speech giver, musician, etc.

I torn apart two of them last night. Each of the had a 2oz copper ring. I did pull the magnets out of both of them and will mount them on some sort of pull or pipe. I have 2 more as well as some home stereo speaker that I'm have sure are toast that i will strip this weekend.

But I gather from your post that there is no money in striping the magnets out and sending them off correct?

Nope. As a matter of fact, if I walk into my yard and ask, they will just give me a magnet or two that they have. It is more valuable to check your metals with than it is in scrap value.
