How/Where to sell gold and misc items from electronic scrap and circut boards?

    How/Where to sell gold and misc items from electronic scrap and circut boards?

    Ok so I was trying to pry off the conectors from a circut board I got from a photocopier last night and when I did, the wire was left on them. So I took a needle nose pliers and yanked them off and carfully guided them into a ziplock bag. I have been spending alot of time depopulating boards and I am confused at where to sell this stuff, I have a bunch of IC chips now, transformers, flybacks, all kinds of commectors, heat sinks etc. How should I go about selling this stuff when I have finaly accumulated an appropriate amount? I know I need a scale, where can you get one like that Mike The Scrapper guy uses? Any help would be appreciated.

    I personally break down all of my transformers, the copper and steel goes to my local yard along with my heatsinks. For the IC chips and connectors, check out the buyers section of the forum. Many different buyers there with reviews. I've used a few of them myself, hope this helps!

    Also Ebay for selling IC chips and other scrap. Also for buying a scale that measures ounces and grams.

    I bought my main scale on Amazon for around $25 I think. It'll weight up to 75#'s. Then I bought a floor/table top scale that'll do up to 400 #'s for $50 I think....Search scales on Amazon, lots of good deals. and I'd read up on electronic scrapping a bit, before depopulating everything off of the boards. Some boards are worth more...populated.

    Why depopulate the boards if you don't have a clue of what's valuable or where to sell it.??
    This boggles my mind that someone would do it cause someone on Youtube told them to.
    Do some reading back and find out for yourself what has value and why your pulling it. We even have niche buyers here
    for all kinds of out of the way stuff.

    Yes do read the old threads. Keep in mind prices have change since the price of gold has gone down. Hold on to what you have until you have educated yourself. The good news is you are here now and can learn what you need. Start with the sticky threads and move on from there. Mike.

    I,m with Mike on this. Why would you depopulate the the boards? Just take off any extra steel, the larger heat sinks(extruded aluminum) IC chips off of low grade boards (most e-waste buyers will buy them) Flybacks, I have a hard time selling so I leave them on the boards plus it adds wieght the the boards. You can also take the copper coils off the low grade boards if you want to. Transformers I sell as electric motors. I bought my scale on e-bay for 40.00+10.00 shipping. It wieghs up to 360lbs and it wieghs in oz.,lbs and grams. I can plug it into the wall or use with a 9v battery. I,ve had it for about a year and a half and still works well. Hope this helps.
