stripped wire and wire off motors

If you strip copper wire and cut all the ends and solder off its number 1 right ? What about the wire you unwind off of electric motors it has some kind of clear coating on it do most scrapyards count it with stripped wire or number 2 ?

welcome to the forum....it is customary to go to the introduction section and tell us a little bit about yourself. Also the question you asked has been asked and answered multiple times. A bit of studying and reading the old threads will get you the answers to most of your questions. It is a friendly group here but we do ask that new members put a bit of effort into finding their way around first.
All wire even if stripped is not always #1.

varnished usually goes as #2, the yards vary but usually the "legal" version is bigger than a pencil lead for #1.
