Why is it so hard to look for aluminum scrap buyers?

    Hey,

I am new to this forum and thank GOD I bump into this forum - I'm sure I will be feeding my brain with information here. Anyway, why is it so hard to look for buyers? I tried emailing them already, but is it ok to call the prospective buyers right way?

Not sure why you're having any problem finding a buyer for aluminum or any scrap. Do you have a scrap yard near you? Where are you located (state and approx locale ie: NW Iowa). How much scrap are you selling? Are you talking about emailing foreign buyers? They usually deal in steady monthly supplies in the hundreds of tons.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

    Mick,

I don't own a scrap yard. I am looking for buyers as an agent.
Yes I am talking about emailing foreign buyers, the scrap is from Spain and I'm in the Philippines.

    Hi Kuni,

Sorry for the very late reply, I just discovered that I forgot to set notifications to my email. I'm sending you an email.

    Thanks,
    Nelson

Oh man I know what you mean...it seems like every buyer I come across is from the UK but when I do an IP check on them they're from nigeria. Hmmm...lying before we even think about trading together? Not a good move.

I see these ads from foreign entities all the time looking for "agents". Doesn't make sense. If there was anything to it, why aren't the scrap yards hooked up with them?

Yeah, you've got a point there. I learned after the whole nigeria incident. No way am I dealing with buyers or sellers that won't let me go down there to check up on things. Neither am I going to get anything outside of the US because if something happeneds with the merchandise then I'm just SOL.

    Hey JvSwag,

There's a lot of Nigerian doing that. They use .uk email addresses and all, they even act like a buyer first and in a couple of days offer their products "if they have any". That's what I did too... I looked up their IP's, that time I knew they're from Nigeria.
