There are lots of threads on tv's that cover this question well. The problem with using the search feature and putting in "tv" is its too short to do the search. I went to the how to dismantle section of the forum and just went through the list and found this. You will also find that this is a list of suggested threads at the bottom or each thread. I suggest you spend time reading more of the threads in all the sections it will help you a lot. Mike.

I know this has been answered at least 100 times now. Even breaking down as to what's in them.

Look at the bottom of the page at all the other threads that say something about Tv's, that's a start.

I will chime in with..Projection tv's are great..you never know what you'll find in some, but open the lamps/tubes/whatever they are ,over a bucket..trust me.
You only need to do it once to learn not to do it again.

My TVs are full of horrible "reality" shows, terrible talk shows, and overly-dramatic news programs. It's all scrap, as far as I'm concerned.

Never smash them, a small hobbit living inside the tube will jump out and eat your face off. He is there to protect the precious pound of gold inside. They like marshmallows and Cheetos , so you may need to buy some for your protection.

Don't be so silly it's a pair of hobbits (they never hunt solo) Only a pound of gold don't be daft theres a least 1.03258647 lbs of 27 carat gold in there. And as for marshmalloows and cheetos - without beer your just plain insane.

For sure! No one should ever attempt to dismantle a TV (lest they release the gas) unless they're wearing a full haz mat suit.
