    Smell from a freezer

First, sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.

Yesterday I had a pickup from a Facebook posting...some TVS computer stuff a fridge and stand up freezer. The fridge is old and nasty, but it's the stand up freezer that is my dilemma. It stinks. BAD. I can't get it evacd until next week. The people took the door off and I wont put it on...due to the little kids next door. Anyone else ever deal with this?

I almost puked just reading the title. I had a fridge still had food in it I removed the items and threw them away, I can still smell it... I filled it up with some steel items that I had around the yard and took it down that day did not want it around and did not care that I did not have a full load of steel to take down, it had to go! LOL

I got one like that. Didn't realize that there was food in it till I got it home. I could keep the door closed till I was ready to deal with it. Bagged everything in bags that could be closed tight. Hosed out the refrigerator real good on the driveway. Then hosed down the driveway. Left the door open for a few days.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Good point. Bear's won't go near ammonia or heavy bleach, so why not use a gallon on the freezer and hope for the best?
