While walking along a busy road (always with my head looking down) I saw what I thought was a bottle cap. I picked it up and saw it was a gold ring that was run over a bunch and flattened out almost beyond recognition. My question is this; take to a local "We buy gold" or local jeweler or send to place some of you may recommend? I can't imagine finding more, so I won't have the volume that others may send, and I only want to have cash in hand. It has a couple of small diamonds in it, but from what I've heard, that isn't worth much these days and too small to make earings out of them.

So for those who have come across old gold rings from clean outs etc, what do you do with them?
Thanks, JPete.
