Just took a load. Pretty good haul, but, as usual, I forgot a bucket. Had a pile of aluminum I left in the shop. Crap! Oh well, just the seed for the next load.

NEW TO SCRAPPING? READ THIS: Build up your horde of magnetic and non-magnetic metals in two piles until you have a better understanding of the business. Magnetic material has low value and is mostly always steel / shred / short iron. Read old threads about non-magnetic metals and ewaste (and how to sort them), but don't forget that they generally have absolutely no tolerance for contamination (screw / iron / foreign material).

Prices are stable at my neck of the woods, except for gas.

Shred: CDN 150 / mt or USD 106 / ton
Copper #2: CDN 3.51 / lbs or USD 2.77 / lbs (but some island yards buy at over CDN 4.00 /lb)
MLC (Low Cop) Aluminium: CDN 0.60 / lbs or USD 0.47 / lbs
Cast Aluminum: CDN 0.41 / lbs or USD 0.32 / lbs

Gasoline just went up at CDN 2.239 / L or USD 6.69 / gallon

Ext. Aluminum: CDN 0.54 / lbs (from 1.00 / lbs)

    Gasoline back at CDN 2.059 / L or USD 6.00 / gallon

One yard i use, SS is at .25/lb and their other location down in Kankakee is at .20/lb.

I also wouldnt be surprised if in 2 months steel is at 0 and copper is around 1.00 /1.50 lb.
