New to this scrapping a little on the side, have a few questions

I just scrap a 98 volvo v70 wagon on Monday and received 280 dollars the car was fully intact. I don't know if I got paid too little though as I still don't understand scrap prices I am in Melbourne Florida area. So my question is how did I due on my first go at it and where do you get an accurate price per ton for your area without a subscription service

    I am getting $150.00 a ton (2000#) here >> or .075 per pound
My source for car weights >> Hoegh Cube Display >> shows 98 Volvo V70 wagon weighing 3754 pounds
3754 X .075 = $281.55 scale for the vehicle >> right in line with the $280.00 you received

NOW once you add in the $50.00 you will get for the Aluminum rims
    $8.00 for the battery
Somewhere between $80.00 and $120.00 for the Cats
    You should do OK
A lot depends on how much you paid for the car
and Please PLEASE tell me you DID cut the Cats before going across the scale

As far as where do you get an accurate price per ton for your area Call and ask what the price is
I don't have any type of " subscription service" >> Price is what it is
I don't have a place to store more then one or 2 at a time waiting for the price to go up
I do give the folks in the scale house some free entertainment when the price does go up as I do a HAPPY dance for them
