    Copper granules

I've been trying to find an answer to this question I have but even alot of the local small time yard owners don't really have answers for this. Maybe someone on here who deals with stuff like this more often can answer it.

Is there a difference in price for copper granules that come out of a wire Granulator VS. #1 or Bare Brite pices? And my second question I have is if my granulator wasn't able to effectively seperate the copper from the insulation is there a higher price for the granulated mix VS. Wire price? I wouldn't have enough volume starting out to find a specialized buyer so I'd have to sell to one of the scrap big shots for awhile.

We get the same price for our bare bright and copper chop's. The load we just sold was comex minus 8.5 cent's as of last Thursday.

Thanks. Was trying to decide if it was worth it to build a heavy duty granulator for the big stuff or just strip the big stuff and build a smaller machine to chop like romex and battery cable and such. I think I could fabricate a small machine but anything bigger would probably be cheaper to buy used.

Please keep us posted on your granulator or shredder construction
