    A selling question for HT1

Since you are in the scrap yard business, I have a question for you. Is it worth keeping nichrome wire separate from shred? Every time I get some kind of heating element that has this, I will remove it. I talked to my main yard (they have since turned over their entire staff) some time back, and they said they only paid tin prices for it. I was just wondering if it is worth putting aside, or should I just leave it. I guess what I am wondering is do you pay for it separate from shred, and if you do I will do some calling around here in the DFW area to see if any of the yards around here pay separate for it.

    Thanks for any insight.

in my experiance it goes as shred. most yards dont see it in enough volume to do much with it and then theres the recovery rate off it which I believe is to the low side.

Keep it. I buy it but your gonna need to save some quantity and I don't expect price to come up much until the end of the year.

you are going to have to shop around on that, some people will give a nice price others just wont deal with it, it is a specialty item... Right now even people that would normally buy it might not be since nickle is so low

Thanks for the info, I will hang onto it for a while, as it is not taking up a whole lot of room.

I had some bare Chrome/nickel wire for a while and ended up just chucking it in with my Stainless steel.

Since I think its compatible with stainless because stainless has both Chrome and Nickel in it. (?)
